Here we are with the first post!
The initial plunge into the unknown is one of the hardest decisions we have to make. Whether it is the decision to deepen one's relationship with God, the decision to live a healthier lifestyle, the decision to pursue one's educational aspirations or the pursuit of healthy relationships. The truth is not knowing what is ahead of us is scarier than the situations that we have become accustomed to in our lives. We can stand at the edge of the our goals and continue to overthink, calculate wind speed, and try to position everything in a "perfect" manner so we will not be bruised on the way down.
There is no decision that is easy to make, especially when the decision has the ability to change us for the better, and connect us to a part of ourselves that we did not even know existed. Personally, being the type A person that I am, I love to have everything planned out, know all details, and have the ability to control things. The truth is that the longer we stare off the ledge the higher the probability we will retreat back into what we deem to be "
comfortable." I have had to learn and continue to hold on to Deuteronomy 31:6 where I am promised that Jesus will "..NEVER leave me or forsake me." So this journey has been constant pep talks to jump and hold onto the promise.
The journey of growing in Christ will NOT be easy and we would be fooling ourselves if we thought it would be full of sunshine, butterflies, and flowers. However, we hold onto Hebrews 12:2-3 as our constant reassurance that there is purpose to the choice we have made.
LET'S JUMP!
